That holds true on the other side of the camera as well, as BMXNOW photographers travel the globe in search of the best BMX Racing shots, new techniques, and the best angles. After shooting photos at a few dozen nationals and countless local and regional races between March of 2008 and February 2008 (when I got back into BMX after a 20-year layoff), I was honored to have countless riders, parents, sponsors, and a publisher or two encourage me to start selling my shots online. At first, I resisted, both because of the fact that I do not do "vendor duty" well at the races. I like to be out there, on the infield from the first practice to the last main. To be a successful vendor, you have to be...well...vending...and nobody can sell it the way you, yourself do.
Also, it has never been my style to shoot for VOLUME, as you need to do in order to make a photo vending service worth the time it requires.
But, after a generous amount of planning, and noodling over what would and would not work, I believe we have come up with an operations model that accomplishes all my criteria, AND will provide all the amazing content that will keep people coming back.
